Clinical experience:

I have been a consultant obstetrician & Gynaecologist since 1975 in the medical city teaching hospital in Baghdad. I have a wide experience in all aspects of obstetrics and Gynaecology. Although I have a generalist practice I have an interest in Gynaecological oncology, infertility and reconstructive gynaecology.
Over the last 20 years I have had a tertiary referral practice from different units throughout the country.
I have a wide experience in operative gynaecology with an average of four operative lists a week over the last 25 years accumulating a large number of gynaecological procedures from simple procedures, laparoscopic surgery and complex gynaecology.
Since 1993 I have been in charge and running my own private hospital.

Teaching:

Throughout my career in teaching hospitals I was responsible for teaching medical students, under and post graduate doctors. I have always enjoyed and found pleasure in teaching and training young doctors and supervising their progress and assisting them to achieve their goals throughout their career.

Management experience:

During my career as a consultant I was involved in different comities responsible for policy making, and service design in the health service. I am a member of the family planning association, Iraqi association of the Obstetricians and Gynaecology, and Iraqi society of oncology.
Since moving to the private sector in 1991 I have been managing and running my own private hospital. This is a 40 room private hospital, with 4 operating theatres, two delivery rooms, two recovery rooms, one nursery, and 48 members of staff.
As the chief executive I oversee the financial and administrative aspects of the hospital.
