How is the EMMA Test Performed?

The Emma test is performed with a biopsy taken from the uterus between the 15th and 25th days of the menstrual cycle. The sample taken from the uterus is examined, a detailed map of the environment in the uterus is analyzed and compared with the microbial distribution rate that should be in a healthy uterus. If this comparison results in a risky distribution for the uterus, additional treatment is initiated. If there is no risk environment, embryo transfer is performed. Apart from this, there are some criteria for the test to give healthy results. One of these is antibiotic use. Since antibiotic use affects the test results, the patient should not have used antibiotics for at least 3 months before the EMMA test .
