Testicular Sperm Extraction (TESE) is a procedure performed on patients who do not have sperm in their semen. The testicles are opened under local anesthesia, and the sperm collected from them is used in IVF treatment.
Today, the traditional TESE method has been replaced by Micro TESE, which is performed under a microscope. In the Micro TESE procedure, the testicle is completely opened with a single incision, and the tissue is magnified 24 times using a microscope to identify areas likely to produce sperm. Since the sperm-producing channels can be clearly seen, they are easily distinguished, leading to more successful outcomes compared to the traditional TESE method. At Bahçeci clinics, the Micro TESE method is used, which allows for a more detailed examination of the testicle and achieves a high success rate in finding sperm with minimal damage.
