Patience and hope

While I had been reading successful personal pregnancy stories, I never thought that I would be writing my own personal success story in getting pregnant. I really hope these lines will be a source of hope for everyone. I was born in 1972. I got married when I was 22. I wasn’t thinking about becoming a mother in the early years of my marriage. Yet, eight months after I decided to have a baby, I ran to the doctor, panic-stricken. Thus began a struggle that would last eight years. They were performing every imaginable check on both me and my husband but they couldn’t find any problem whatsoever. But after performing a laparoscopy they finally diagnosed me with endometriosis. At this stage, we tried five inoculations but the results were always negative.

Six years passed with disappointments like these. The time had arrived for us to try a IVF baby. However, the real period of hopelessness was just beginning for us. Three embryos were gathered in an operation conducted at a private hospital; however, the treatment was interrupted since the egg was not developed enough. The doctors there told me that my egg reserves were running low and I no longer had a chance to have a IVF baby. That was how I came to the German Hospital.

Dr. Numan told us that we had to work hard and be patient and we still had a chance to be a mother and father. The first trials began at the German Hospital. My only egg was fertilized during the first trial and split into six. But the result turned out to be negative. In the second trial, I again had a single egg with the embryo split into eight. The result was again negative. Before the third trial, I visited Prof. Dr. Mustafa Bahçeci with my husband. He told us that we had an eight percent success rate and I had to keep myself free of stress and be calm. He added that we could receive support from Yasemin Abız, who was the psychologist of the team. I had transformed into a gloomy person, unable to find happiness. But I was determined; having a baby became my life’s purpose. Ms. Abiz told me that I was not alone with this problem, that many other women struggle to cope with this and many had babies in the end. In the meantime, I supported my self-healing efforts by taking special herbs and vitamins I had purchased at the Egyptian Bazaar.

The treatment began again and three eggs were gathered. All were fertilized. And those never-ending 12 – 15 days I had to wait for the results! I was dying of excitement while waiting at the hospital for the results of the blood test. It was the first day of Eid al Fitr (three-day holiday that marks the end of Ramadan). And finally, the result was POSITIVE. I’m 34 weeks pregnant now. We’re going to have a baby girl and I cannot believe it. I’m grateful to the IVF baby team for supporting me, my husband and family throughout these tough times. I’ve won this struggle with the help of God and I’m praising him thousands and thousands of times. My advice on this singular goal is PATIENCE and HOPE! With hopes that you will become a parent soon.
