I Have Had Failed IVF Attempts

I Have Had Failed IVF Attempts

It is completely normal to feel both physically and emotionally exhausted after failed IVF treatments. During this challenging time, the feeling of hopelessness may intensify, and you might hesitate to undergo another round of treatment. However, it’s important to remember that a failed attempt does not mean you cannot achieve a successful pregnancy.

For a successful IVF treatment, it is crucial to accurately identify the causes of infertility. On average, the causes of infertility are distributed as follows:

Female-related factors:

%30 - %40

Male-related factors:

%40 - %50

In 25% of cases, both male and female factors are involved, and in 15-20% of cases, no specific cause can be identified.

Expert Team Specializing in Difficult Cases

Regardless of the cause, we aim to maximize your chances of success using advanced techniques. Three key factors contribute to the success of our treatments: our state-of-the-art laboratories, the experience of our team, and exclusive techniques that we apply only in our centers in Turkey.

We understand that many of our patients, on average, have undergone 3.2 attempts at different centers before coming to Bahçeci. A significant portion of our patients consists of those who have faced difficult cases and seek us as their last hope after standard procedures have failed elsewhere.

Success-Boosting Techniques at Our Centers

We apply various techniques for patients with repeated failed IVF attempts. Here are some of the methods used to address female infertility problems:

AI-Assisted Embryo Selection: Smart PGT

PGT (Preimplantation Genetic Testing) is the detailed examination of embryos before transfer to assess their chromosomal makeup. Smart PGT is an advanced version that incorporates artificial intelligence into the process. During PGT, various factors like biological, technical, or patient-related variables can influence the diagnosis. AI gathers these variables in a pool and evaluates tens of thousands of embryos based on clinical outcomes (healthy births, miscarriages, pregnancy failures, etc.). Using algorithms, the results are more accurately defined, ensuring the best embryo is identified for transfer.

Embryoscope for 24/7 Embryo Monitoring

We are proud to introduce the Embryoscope system in Turkey, which continuously monitors embryo development without removing the embryos from their natural-like environment. This stress-free method allows us to observe the quality of embryos around the clock. The Embryoscope is a highly dynamic system that improves the chances of identifying embryos with higher potential for successful pregnancy. Given its high cost, many IVF centers do not use this technology. However, at Bahçeci Health Group, we keep up with global advancements and implement the latest technologies, including the Embryoscope, to enhance clinical success.

ERA for Repeated Failures

ERA (Endometrial Receptivity Assay) is particularly effective for patients who have high-quality embryos but have still not achieved pregnancy. A healthy pregnancy depends not only on the quality of the embryo but also on the receptivity of the endometrial lining. The ERA test helps us determine the best timing for embryo transfer, increasing the likelihood of success. Test results have shown that adjusting the treatment plan or embryo transfer day based on these findings can improve pregnancy outcomes for couples, shedding light on previous unsuccessful attempts.

EMBRACE for Non-Invasive Genetic Testing

The EMBRACE test analyzes the fluid in which the embryo has been cultured to assess its genetic health without the need for a biopsy. This test, only available at Bahçeci in Turkey, identifies the most genetically viable embryos, ensuring the highest chance of pregnancy without the risks associated with embryo biopsy. By evaluating the embryo’s surrounding fluid using NGS (Next Generation Sequencing), we eliminate biopsy risks, allowing us to select the embryo with the highest implantation potential during the first transfer, thus reducing the need for multiple treatments.

MitoScore for Energetic Embryos

With the MitoScore test, we assess the embryo’s mitochondrial activity to select the most energetic embryo, maximizing the chances of a successful pregnancy. By determining the embryo’s genetic profile before transfer, we can identify potential issues that could lead to early miscarriage, thus optimizing pregnancy rates.

CD56 Test for Immune Control

The CD56 test measures the presence of natural killer (NK) cells in the body, which can affect embryo implantation. While these cells can be assessed via blood or tissue samples, the preferred method is to analyze tissue, as blood tests may not accurately reflect the uterine environment. Tissue samples are taken under anesthesia between days 21 and 24 of the menstrual cycle and examined by expert pathologists. For patients with high CD56 levels, immune-balancing treatments, such as intralipid injections, are applied before and after embryo transfer.

AI-Powered Smart Sperm Selection

Using AI technology to select the best-quality sperm significantly increases the chances of success in IVF. The system analyzes sperm movement in real-time using cameras and compares them to a database of millions of sperm cells to identify the ones with the highest potential to fertilize the egg.

IMSI – Sperm Magnified by 8,000 Times

IMSI (Intracytoplasmic Morphologically Selected Sperm Injection) is a technique that allows sperm to be magnified 8,000 times for detailed examination. This level of magnification, compared to the 400x used in traditional IVF procedures, allows us to assess sperm morphology more accurately. At Bahçeci, we offer this method to all our patients at no extra cost, maximizing success and enhancing our expertise. Research has shown that IMSI improves embryo quality, increases pregnancy rates, and reduces miscarriage risk.

Micro-TESE for Azoospermia

Micro-TESE is a surgical method used for male infertility cases, specifically for men with azoospermia (no sperm in the semen). This procedure extracts sperm directly from the testis, allowing these men to become fathers through IVF. Micro-TESE can also be applied in cases where sperm quality is poor, enabling the collection of healthy sperm.

sORP Test for Genetic Integrity

The sORP test helps us assess the genetic health of sperm and determine if any supplementary treatments are needed before IVF. While standard sperm analysis evaluates sperm count, motility, and morphology, it does not reveal possible genetic damage. The sORP test enables us to estimate whether the sperm DNA may have significant damage, improving our ability to predict treatment success.
